Letter to the editor: Process of going to the BMV should be easier

The Repository

I would like to talk about how difficult it is to get anything done involving our government. For example, going to the BMV. Every time that I, or many people I have asked, go in there − and they always tell us the specific paperwork and documents to bring − they always say they can’t accept the paperwork.

Many people come to the BMV to get in, and get out. But once in there, it turns into a huge thing, and you suddenly are spending half your day there. I believe that this is just a waste of people's time. Now I will clarify this is not the workers who work there. It’s our government, and they are only doing their job the way they were told.

Another factor that’s not brought up much is how people have to make sacrifices to be able to get to the BMV. Many people don’t have all the time in the world, and yes, you could say they should just go on a day they are free. But think about this: you're working full time, have a husband and kids. Those kids may have events you have to attend, sports to play, etc.

I believe that this process of going to the BMV shouldn’t be so difficult, and we should be able to get done what we need to get done.
