Letter to the editor: Ohio weather proves as variable as people say

The Repository

The weather in the beautiful state of Ohio is crazy. I used to live in Mexico, and I thought the weather was crazy over there, but when I got here, my whole perspective of craziness changed. Ohio is full of nature and animals and beauty, but the weather − holy cow.

When I got here to Ohio, people started talking about the weather and winter. They said this: “If you don't like the weather right now, just wait 10 minutes, and it will change.” I thought it was funny, but when October hit, I started to worry a little bit. I was a little chilly outside, people started to wear sweaters and jackets and all the stuff. I mean, it was not a thing out of this world, the weather was getting colder and colder, but it was not painful at all. I was very disappointed with the “cold” that people talked about.

I was mentally prepared for Antarctic cold weather and did not have to wait a lot; as soon as December hit, the weather went crazy. We got the first snow on Dec. 5 and everything was just very, very cold. People didn't lie to me. I could not believe it. I was struggling very badly with the weather.

But after four months of suffering, the climate started to change again; it was getting warmer and warmer and all my pain and suffering went away. My happiness came back to me, and life was good. Until it got cold again.
