This year's Pixel Watch 3 is packed with significant upgrades. Not only does it now come in two different sizes, but it also supports faster charging and more sensors for enhanced tracking. Plus, with a bunch of new features and deeper integration into Google’s ecosystem, Google has really stepped up its smartwatch game.

Pixel Watch 3 release date

Breaking away from tradition, Google just unveiled the third-generation Pixel Watch alongside the Pixel 9 series on August 13. The open sale of the Pixel Watch 3 starts on August 22.

Pixel Watch 3 price

The Pixel Watch 3 now comes in two sizes, each with its own price point. The smaller 41mm Pixel Watch 3 model is priced at:

$349 for the Wi-Fi-only version
$449 for the LTE version

The larger 45mm Pixel Watch 3 is available at:

$399 for the Wi-Fi version
$499 for the LTE variant.

Pixel Watch 3 design

Google has finally introduced two size options for its Pixel Watch, bringing it more in line with its competitors such as Apple, Samsung, and Garmin. The Pixel Watch 3 is now available in 41mm and 45mm sizes. While the design of the larger model remains mostly unchanged, it does feature a bigger display. Both sizes are crafted from 100% recycled aluminum.

The Pixel Watch 3 maintains the robust 5ATM water resistance of its predecessor, keeping it in line with other top-tier smartwatches. With its IP68 rating, you can confidently take it for a swim without worrying about water damage.

Both sizes of the Pixel Watch 3 now boast Google's Actua Display with a peak brightness of 2,000 nits — double the brightness of the Pixel Watch 2's 1,000 nits. This means you can actually see the screen clearly even under direct sunlight.

Plus, with bezels reduced by over 16%, the Pixel Watch 3 offers a bigger active screen area. You get more screen real estate — over 10% more on the 41mm model and a whopping 40% more on the 45mm version — making it easier to interact with apps and notifications.

Pixel Watch 3 battery

Google’s latest Pixel Watch 3 sees some significant battery improvements, particularly for the larger model. The smaller 41mm version keeps its 306mAh battery, offering about 24 hours of use with the always-on display. However, it now supports 20% faster charging.

Meanwhile, the 45mm model steps it up with a larger 420mAh battery. You can expect up to 24 hours of use with the always-on display enabled or up to 36 hours in Battery Saver Mode.

The watch comes with a USB-C charger that clips onto the device with pins for a stable connection. You’ll be able to juice up to 50% in just 30 minutes and reach 80% in around 50 minutes.

Out of the box, the Pixel Watch 3 runs on Wear OS 5 based on Android 14, offering smooth integration with Pixel phones and other Google devices. Here’s how it keeps you connected and in control:

Google Maps: Get directions even when offline.
Google Wallet: Make payments and manage transactions directly from your wrist.
Nest Cam and Doorbell Notifications: Interact with delivery folks, watch live feeds, and use two-way talk right from your wrist.
Google TV Remote: Control your TV directly from your watch—pause, adjust volume, or switch channels without picking up the remote.
Pixel Phone Camera Control: Snap selfies or group shots and even use Night Sight for stunning astrophotography, all from your wrist.
Call Screen: See who’s calling and why, with the option for Google AI to answer calls if you're busy or can't find your phone.
Pixel Recorder App: Record memos or songs on the go, then access them from either your watch or phone.
Loss of Pulse Detection: This life-saving tool is designed to get you emergency help fast if your heart suddenly stops beating.

The Pixel Watch 3 comes packed with a bunch of new fitness and health features. For instance, when you go for a run, it uses advanced motion sensing and machine learning to analyze your form. You’ll get a detailed breakdown of your cadence, stride length, vertical oscillation, and more, helping you perfect your performance.

It also introduces the new Morning Brief, which gives you personalized tips on your running form and improvement strategies. Each morning, this feature delivers a detailed summary of your key health and fitness stats. You can check your sleep quality, readiness score, and how you’re tracking against your weekly exercise goals. Plus, it highlights any unusual health metrics — like changes in heart rate variability, breathing rate, or SpO2 — so you can stay on top of your wellness.
